Goodness gracious, what could this be? Another OSDM album? No, really?! Yes, folks, here comes another one off the conveyor belt and this time, they hail from the hometown of baseball bats and BELUSHI SPEED BALL, Louisville, KY.
By now, the reviews practically write themselves. REDIVIDER has taken the time to give their album a nice production that fits the vehemently orthodox death metal they play. And as for musical talent, that also seems to be in order. With “Sounds of Malice”, we get seven songs that reek of 1992 in sound. All the usual suspects are touched on…CANNIBAL CORPSE, DEATH, IMMOLATION, MALEVOLENT CREATION. I could swear their song “Fratricide” was an actual CANNIBAL CORPSE tune and a cover. But I could find no mention of it in CC’s catalog, so it’s just a song that sounds exactly like the CANNIBALS.
The whole album is like that and it’s not bad at all if you like guttural American death metal. “Left To Rot” motors along like a lost DEATH track and at least I can say these guys don’t piddle around with intros and samples…they slam right into the music. But the search for just one tiny thing that gives this a separate identity is futile. So it’s another one that you might enjoy while listening to it…but not something you’ll remember in a month.
