Staten Island death metal warriors FESTERGORE have a new record coming out November 29 via Personal Records titled “Constellation Of Endless Blight”. Although FESTERGORE aren’t a big, well-known band yet – the band formed in 2021 – this new record might be the one to put them over. “Constellation Of Endless Blight” is a big nod to early 90’s death metal in the vein of IMMOLATION, MALEVOLENT CREATION, SUFFOCATION, MONSTROSITY, and DEICIDE, to name a few.
Track one, “Ironborn,” starts the record out in grand fashion with a sound that’s very reminiscent of BOLT THROWER. “Glass Casket,” is a circle pit – mosh fest monster with a DEMOLITION HAMMER vibe guaranteed to snap some bones. Former NUCLEAR ASSAULT guitarist Anthony Bramante appears on this track.
I've never been a fan of instrumental tracks on a record, but I did enjoy the two included here -- "Synchronizing The Kozmos Part I" and "Synchronizing The Kozmos Part II," in fact "Part II" was a good intro to the last track and one of the better songs on this album, "What Once Was Proud."
“Constellation Of Endless Blight” is a solid offering of smash and crush death metal with plenty of aggression and loads of brutality. FESTERGORE are a machine designed to cave your skull in, pure and simple. The sheer degree of bludgeoning mayhem FESTERGORE divvy out is impressive. “Constellation Of Endless Blight” is more than worthy of adding to your collection.
