ENDSEEKER “Global Worming”

I gotta give these guys extra points just for the album name...haha, that’s a good one! Otherwise, this German band continues to try as hard as possible to be DISMEMBER. They don’t make any secret of it, that’s for sure, and there are indeed points when they sound just like the Swedish giants.
Like so many albums, the best stuff is all up front. The title track attacks with speed and vigor and outside of the lead vocals, this could be a DISMEMBER track from “Hate Campaign” or “Death Metal” for sure. The following tune “Hell Is Here” is where ENDSEEKER really shine...I particularly love the mournful, hypnotic riff that ends this one. From there, the album is effective but pretty derivative and some tracks like “Terror” and “Our Only Life” are kinda generic. But at all times, the record has that trademark Stockholm chainsaw crunch.
I do like the catchy swing of “Hanging Gardens”, but the doomy “Nemesis” that ends the album finishes things on a down note. ENDSEEKER is a band that cooks when they’re on point...but that’s not all the time.
