Does this really need a review? Are you kidding me? One look at just the band name and album title tells you everything you need to know about STENCHED. I mean, what the hell would you expect from an album called "Purulence Gushing From The Coffin"? Pop diva sounds? Autotuned Latino rap?
I will make this one short and sweet. We know exactly what kind of music STENCHED is after. The only question is: do they execute it well? Better ask: does HE execute it well? Yes, this is a one hombre band from Mexico. And the answer is, he does it passably well. It's just as downtuned and sick as you would figure. Also, just as typical and predictable. There are no surprises here, no little quirks or idiosyncrasies to add color and individuality. But I can't deny there are also some killer riffs...effective but about as original as the latest remake of "Halloween".
You know by now if you wanted to delve further into STENCHED. If you miss it, I can guarantee something a lot like it will be out next week.
