SADISTIC FORCE     “Midnight Assassin”

By Theron Moore

SADISTIC FORCE’s new record, “Midnight Assassin”, is set for release through Horror Pain Gore Death Productions, October 13. Lyrically, “Midnight Assassin” is a record that's steeped in the blood of true crime with a nod to the 80's slasher movie genre. Musically, these Austin, TX soldiers of metal crank out a truly vicious brand of blackened speed and breakneck thrash with a hint of MOTÖRHEAD that would put a smile on Lemmy's face, if he were still with us today.

The problem with a lot of blackened speed / thrash bands is falling into a formulaic trap where every other song sounds like a different take on BEWITCHER. Not so with SADISTIC FORCE. Each song is a celebration of ass kicking heaviness and metal worship where the lyrical vision matches up perfectly with the spirit and vibe of the song. The influence of the 80’s slasher genre plays well throughout the album as well as more of an emergent, dominant black metal sound as well.

“Speeding Black Leather Hell” is the first single SADISTIC FORCE released and it’s a great introduction to this record. The same goes for track one, “Campaign Of Sin.” “Speeding Black Leather Hell” is a cool throwback to the classic days of VENOM coming at you hot with guns ready. I did mention a VENOM influence but trust me, this song is all SADISTIC FORCE, it’s a bone breaker for sure. Other noteworthy tracks include “Corpsewood Curse” and “The Butcher’s Apron.” It goes without saying to check this record out. “Midnight Assassin” is a headbanging, fist in the air example of what good metal should be and must sound like. Patch this one on.
