What we have here falls under the term of atmospheric black metal, an umbrella term, perhaps, that I surely cannot disagree with. From opening into a fuzzy, atmospheric sort of blizzard in a nocturnal setting it becomes apparent what we have here. The album brings a cold, melodic dreadful feeling like what could happen when Locrian mode is in a note or just a hint, that dark dreadful feeling that holds true to so much of the genre.
Track 2 shows a unique introduction with percussion and the guitar driven approach here in sound, and is played well in card. Track 3 shows a break where good care of atmospheric keys are used and so far the sound is clear and crisp like the clarity of a winter night. The main take away is this and the guitar driven, melodic and dark sound, without treading into anything new. And that's fine because it's not a bad album and might set well with the fans of old Swedish melodic black metal or fans of old DIMMU BORGIR, LIMBONIC ART or DISSECTION.
