MORBID SAINT has a long awaited, new record coming out February 9 titled ‘Swallowed By Hell’ via High Roller Records. This is probably the most brutal and aggressive thrash record I’ve heard in years. This bastard has teeth and claws. If any band is the true heir to SLAYER, it’s MORBID SAINT, hands down, and this record is proof of that. The pure homicide on this disc is unbelievable.
Where most bands build to a peak intensity, MORBID SAINT just goes scorched Earth with their first song, “Rise From The Ashes,” ups the ante to a full on nuclear strike with second song, “Swallowed By Hell,” then vaporizes everything around them with track number three, “Bloody Floors.” I could go on, and on, but you get the idea. If you don’t, you might wanna go back to listening to NiCKLEDICK and DRAKE immediately ‘cause ‘Swallowed By Hell’ is a poser death machine.
The beauty of MORBID SAINT is that what they deliver on record is what you get live on stage. I saw them destroy an audience at Blades Of Steel Metal Festival ’23. I tuned into their Facebook livestream a few months ago and it was a bloodbath. ‘Swallowed By Hell’ is a neck snapper of the highest form of thrash (and) metal, utter viciousness. If I was a soldier going into battle, knowing combat was imminent, I’d be cranking this record as loud as I could, especially the song “Fear Incarnate.”
I think for the first time in my career reviewing records I’ve run out of great things to say about a band and their record.
