From the very beginning, this makes no pretense of being anything but orthodox black metal in the classic tradition. It is the creation of misanthropic Frenchman "N", who draws special influence to late 90's French BM in the style of FUNERAL and NASTROND. N delivers exactly what he has promised and because of that, this will make all corpse painted ghouls who miss the good old days of Satanic metal vomit black blood in glee.
After a far too long intro full of the usual cliche scary noises and subliminal deviltry, "The Trance of Bedless Bones" gets down to business. The sound is pleasingly robust, without any phony pretenses of being "necro". It hits hard in the vein of MARDUK and GORGOROTH, with blistering speed and yet sorrowful melody embedded in the mayhem. It's good to hear just straight up 2nd wave black metal and nothing but.
Things remain intense over the course of the album. The title track is somewhat slower and more morose and hits a great repetitive riff in the last minute. "Possessed By Malignant Lust" and "Enshrouded in Rabid Repugnance" are both absolute blazing rippers that strike like a storm of blades...awesome classic black metal! Even the creepy little interlude "Withering Veins" hits the spook spot with atmospheric organ work.
As the press sheet claims, this is devotion, not innovation, and thankfully NOIRSUAIRE is very sincere in this regard!
