Get your splatter-proof gear on, because DIABOLIZER have got their chainsaws revved up and they are going to rip you to pieces. Here’s some SERIOUS death metal from Turkey, a country that is growing in metallic stature. And it pleases me to say this is not another BOLT THROWER or INCANTATION worshipping outfit, but a band that draws direct inspiration from the greats of the American death metal scene...CANNIBAL CORPSE, MONSTROSITY, SUFFOCATION.
DIABOLIZER has analyzed the best parts of those bands and Frankensteined them together on “Murderous Revelations”. “Into the Depths of Diseased Minds” announces this is a band that bows deeply at the bloody altar of CANNIBAL CORPSE. It’s crisp, tight and furious...kinda like my first girlfriend on her period. That holds true for this entire record. The production is pitch perfect, the drumming of Aberrant is thunder incarnate, the screaming axework of Can and Mustafa slices and dices with precision while Abomination brings the sickness on vocals. Not to ignore the subsonic thrum of Malik on bass. As good as this first track is, “Hogtied in Razorwire” ups the ante to an almost unimaginable level. As good a death metal track as I’ve heard in 2025.
That’s the peak, but this laser focused and compact album never really slows down except for the opening chords of “Set The World Ablaze” and the concluding track “Into the Jaws of Cerberus”. This last track shows they can grind with a slightly more mid-paced crunch ala MORBID ANGEL.
Sometimes a band just captures a certain sound to perfection and that’s what “Murderous Revelations” does. A name to reckon with in the death metal world...somebody get ‘em over here and put ‘em on a major tour!
