Reported to be a blend of CHRISTIAN DEATH and BATHORY in a marriage of metal and death rock, Peaceville releases “Until the Night” by NEW SKELETAL FACES for the world to behold. Opening with "Disexist", the combination is somewhat apparent and as we move into "Until the night" it becomes more so, harkening to a goth sound of old. The vocals have a feral quality and the bass is noteworthy, again recalling the sound of older deathrock and gothic acts. The style of the singer adds an interesting element to it all over the crossbred swirl of strings, drums and the charm of the bass making for a unique listen.
Clocking in around 35 minutes and not overstaying it’s welcome works well for the flow the album as a whole, as has been done in the fashion of older classic albums fitting just above the EP format. All in all, it is a different approach to the older genres and must be given attention for its approach and blending of these two if not three music classifications, and this is certainly a good advantage for the band.
