This is thrash metal the way it used to be done. The way it SHOULD be done! Even great newer bands like ENFORCED and WRAITH don’t sound as authentically old school as BURNING DEATH!
I notice that two of the members here hail from the superb Nashville death metal band ACT OF IMPALEMENT, who I can’t recommend highly enough. Just as that band conjures up the elder days of death metal, BURNING DEATH is just as good at recreating the thrashing days of SLAYER’s “Show No Mercy”, DESTRUCTION’s “Infernal Overkill” and ONSLAUGHT’s “Power From Hell”. The dry but clear production is pitch perfect at recreating the sound of those days and better yet, the BURNING DEATH guys play like the Devil is blazing their asses with hellfire! You can’t fake that kind of evil urgency!
The style is a nice mix of American and German thrash. Songs are short but have maximum potency…just like in the old days. You can drop the needle anywhere here and get your shorts burnt off,but “Genocidal Litany”, ‘Death Is Salvation”, and “Revel In Violence” are all thrash in the truest sense of the word. Longest track “Cold Bite of Steel” has some of the best riffs this genre has produced and the last minute is foam at the mouth level.
A killer surprise from Music City right here!
