UK death metal veterans ADORIOR have a new record dropping September 27 via Dark Descent Records (North America) & Sepulchral Voice (EU) called “Bleed On My Teeth” which isn't bad, in fact it kind of grew on me after the third time I listened to it.
Truth be told, I had never heard of this band prior to listening to this disc. Their bio stated they’ve been around since 1994. OK. “Bleed On My Teeth” is eight tracks of very heavy, very primal grind-thrash-death following up their last record, “Author Of Incest”, released 19 years ago in 2005.
Jumping right into it, “Bleed On My Teeth” is a chaotic mindfuck of gnarly blackened disgust, especially track three -- "L.O.T.P. - Vomit Vomit Vomit Bastard." I'm trying to come up with words to describe what this sounds like but I'm at a loss – maybe NUNSLAUGHTER or AUTOPSY or ABSCESS during its “Urine Junkies” period? Whatever this wrecking ball of musical mayhem is, I like it. Lots of SLAYER-ish riffs, heavier than hellfire power chord ripping, and more blasphemy than any mortal should have to endure. And that’s basically every song in a nutshell.
The downside to this record is exactly that: If you've heard one track you've heard 'em all. There's not much variation songwise. If you cross NUNSLAUGHTER or ABSCESS with SLAYER, throw in some Exorcist like female vocals, and keep it very neanderthal, you've got “Bleed On Your Teeth”. By Lucifer it works though, in a very basic AC/DC, formulaic kind of way.
If you just want to get hit over the head with massively huge riffs and proto death-grind, this is the record for you. If you're looking for intricacy and complexity, you might want to look elsewhere. “Bleed On My Teeth” is worth checking out.
