When it was said that this was something for fans of LED ZEPPELIN, Ritchie Blackmore's RAINBOW and SCORPIONS, my attention was interested upon reading such things stated. When I also read a song was inspired by the old movie “Jacob's Ladder”, it further interested me as I had just mentioned the film the night before to someone.
The guitars have such an appeal as the old classic rock bands mentioned with a solid rhythm section behind the music and an interesting atmosphere. In somehow keeping their own identity the band makes good of their influences with the guitars knowing the ins and outs of such things and craft. The sound is closer to a Joe Lynn Turner or Hughes era of RAINBOW than DIO if at all and has a good deal of leaning to an 80s sort of feeling and sound. With the makings of a live act this could develop into an interesting project as they have the sound of a live band who has performed a lot together but I feel there's still something missing in their sound and formula that needs to be further explored before catching the sort of air that has been captured by some of their influences.
This being said they seem to be on such a trail that could lead to greater things with delving perhaps a little more into their hearts outside of the rocking sort of endorphin feel. They don't need a producer like Bob Ezrin but maybe the fine tuning of deeper song writing and another couple of albums that go into other areas already established here on “One Way Trip”.
