Baltimore, MD’s thrashing soldiers of mondo brutality are back with “Epoch Inhumane”, set to drop science on the world June 12 via Rotted Life Records. I like this band. Even better, I like this record.
I just got done reviewing a record that redefined the word TERRIBLE for me. Thankfully, NUCLEAR TOMB and a nice glass of tequila convinced me that thrash — and most of all, metal — is alive and well and still being cranked out by dudes like this.
And what I mean by that is this: NUCLEAR TOMB is making music with heart and soul. They’re doing it because they love this genre, and it shows from beginning to end on “Epoch Inhumane”. This one’s a rager and, best of all, I know exactly who NUCLEAR TOMB is after listening to this album. Metal be thy name.
“Epoch Inhumane” is the best of all possible worlds — elements of old school thrash, maybe a jigger or two of punk rock, and just a desire to crank it up to 11 and headbang like there’s no tomorrow.
Need proof? Check out the track “Terminally Emboldened” and tell me you didn’t start a pit in your living room. Good God, that might be the best song I’ve heard this year! Full-on thrash, just aggression cranked up until the meter pegs and explodes in your face. Just one more reason why I dig this band and this record.
There are few records that come my way that I can’t get enough of. “Epoch Inhumane” is one of ’em. It’s proof that rock isn’t dead, metal is still fresh, and thrash still has enough teeth bared to scare the shit out of you. Buy this one!
