15 songs in 20 minutes.  That’s all you need to know right there.  Zeke’s new record, “Hellbender” is good time punky thrash, or, good time thrashy punk.  Whatever.  At this point I don’t think it matters anymore what category these fellas fall into.  Kind of like Municipal Waste that way.  It’s fast, it’s thrashy and it’s punkified.

Highlights include “On the Road,” “Hellbender” and “Goin’ Down.”  There’s not a whole lot to say here, I mean, reviewing a Zeke record is kind of like reviewing a Motorhead record.  You expect it to rock.  And it does.  You expect it to be loud and in your face, and it succeeds on that level handedly.

“Hellbender” is one helluva a fast record.  15 songs in 20 minutes.  This shit moves, there’s no fucking around here.  I have to admit, prior to this record I wasn’t really a fan.  I heard a few songs, wasn’t move an iota.  But this record will punch you in the face, knock out a tooth, and laugh at you afterwards.

It’s not so much brutal as it is just attitude-driven, fuck you music.  It has the teeth of Motorhead, the speed of old school punk, and the cross over greatness that a band like Municipal Waste has.  It’s pretty accessible to both mohawks and long hairs and if you can’t connect with it, what the fuck is wrong with you?  Buy it or diet, fatso…(I resemble that remark!--Dr. M)
