“At Leve Som Hvis der var et Hab”

By Dr. Abner Mality

I’m sure the Swedish Chef from the Muppet Show might be able to tell me what the album title means. Or maybe not, since these guys are from Denmark, not Sweden.

Denmark, Sweden, Norway…the Scandinavians have always had a solid grasp of raging D-beat hardcore and Parasight proves that truism once more. This is a concise, razor-edged assault of crunching metallic hardcore that gets the job done with efficiency and which delivers the goods we’ve come to expect. I won’t bother sorting through the Nordic alphabet soup of the song titles here but I’m guessing most of the lyrics deals with the hard realities of life and rising up to meet them. The songs themselves range from a minute to three minutes of clear but brutal hard riffing. Some of it is direct D-beat demolition, other tunes will inject a kind of frosty melody into the scheme of things.

There’s not too much more to say about Parasight. I don’t think this will linger for days in your mind as a classic, but it’s reliable Scandinavian hardcore that’s well played and well recorded.
