GODTHRYMM

"A Grand Reclamation"

By Octopi Mills

UK epic doom is what the tag reads on this and I see members of the My Dying Bride, Anathema and Solstice lineage are present here. The title track starts off with some clean guitar elements that goes into doom and then all things go to the melancholic phases of such a past, with some wild vocals done in passion.  For those interested it seems old Hamish is responsible for these vocals. The sound has the English feel of its lineage; the melodic strings, the guitar and bass sound of old doom. "Sacred Soil" has the old feeling mentioned and "The Pantheon" loafs around with more of the same by the time the point is made with the final track closing the affair as an sort of outro. This was different, though not quite as potent as one might expect. I suppose there is a lot to still expect out of the project though, and perhaps more material is intended.
