"Bestial Thrashing Bulldozer"

By Dr. Abner Mality

Holy freakin' spit! This shit is nuts! I haven't heard insane speedy thrash like this in even leaves most grind/powerviolence stuff in the dirt. I guess Fastkill is a well established band in Japan, but this makes other Japanese thrash like Ritual Carnage and King's Evil sound like Saint Vitus. The sheer relentless speed alone helps make this stand out from the flood of retro-thrash releases we've gotten recently.

This also has the true crusty stench of a band from the late 80's/early 90's. The production, the riffing, the goofy ass wild soloing, the screaming chipmunk vocals...all like some obscure, undiscovered band from the wild days of thrash. Getting back to the vocals...that's the one biggest downside to Fastkill. High pitched weasel like yelping and shrieking that wears on the nerves very quickly is how I'd describe it. Kind of cute in the short run, wearying in the long run.

But maniac energy makes up for a lot and you've got it here. EVERY tune rips, but if I had to pick one that peels the most flesh from your face, it would be "Guillotine Attack".  That sucker makes Kreator and Hirax sound positively arthritic. Rarely has an album lived up to its title with so much fidelity. A blazing blitzkrieg of a release!
