Our resident expert on Chicago metal history, THERON MOORE, this week ventured onto cursed ground to learn the macabre tale of DAMIEN THORNE, Chi-town's masters of evil power metal. He speaks to guitarist KEN MANDAT about the beginnings of the band and the turbulent Chicago metal scene, including a look at fondly remembered venues like Medusa's and The Thirsty Whale. He hears some tough stories of how the band was ripped off by their label and their difficulty adjusting to the trendy LA metal scene of the late 80's/early 90's. And there are also revelations of Damien Thorne's current activities like their new album "Soul Stealer". It's an in-depth look at Windy City metal and you can check it out HERE!

I can report that OCTOPI MILLS has scored an interview with the mystical and unpredictable occult doom metal band, ALBEZ DUZ, so look for that to appear here soon. Mr. Mills is working on some other projects for Wormwood, as am I, and details will be forthcoming soon.

We keep the whacky reputation of the Torture Chamber intact as this week features smoked out stoner rock, a Hungarian Dada wolf in Dutch sheep's clothing, black metal played with hammered dulcimer instead of guitar and bloodcurdling Australian war metal. It's not just reviews, it's an adventure!
